Rachel, a senior at Weatherford High School is another of our seinor models. She’s passionate about music and it’s no surprise that she’s also a Gleek like Tammy and Mandy in the studio (in case you’re out of the loop, a Gleek is a fan of the TV show Glee). Learning a new song  and spending the day with family and friends makes her happiest. Ten years down the road, Rachel sees herself living in the Big Apple and working in the music industry, perhaps as a movie music composer. Speaking of New York, the city also happens to be her favorite vacation destination. But like a good Texan, steak would be her food of choice if she had to pick her last supper. Rachel would follow that big, juicy steak with a slice of tiramisu. Fidgeting makes her crazy, but she admires people who can set goals and achieve them despite obstacles in their way.

We’d like to introduce you to Maggie, one of our 2011 Senior Models. She’s a senior at Weatherford Christian. With a passion for cooking, it’s no surprise The Food Network is her favorite TV channel. Speaking of food, she loves sushi  and French Silk pie and would like to meet celebrity chef Paula Dean. You can find  her rocking out to Wade Bowen, Josh Abbott, and Randy Rodgers. An ideal day in the life of Maggie includes great food, a good run, good friends and lots of laughter. This hard worker would love to take a vacation, but if she got stranded on a desert island, she would like to bring along tanning lotion and a helicopter (with gas in it, of course!). Ideally, she would like to work for Cosmo magazine or own a vineyard. If that doesn’t work out, ten years from now she would like to be a personal trainer living in a loft in a big city. The Key School Class of 2010 toss their caps in the air to celebrate their graduation!

Photographing Key School’s graduation was especially significant this year, because Tammy’s son Preston was one of the twelve members of the class of 2010. We thought we would share his very touching speech with you: 

Life is All in the Cards, by Preston Graham 

“The former prime minister of India, Nehru, once said, ‘Life is like a game of cards. The hand that is dealt you represents determinism: the way you play is free will.’ This quote is meaningful to me because we do not always know what life may bring. Like a card game, we have to make the most of what we have been dealt. Using what I have, and learning from past mistakes, will enable me to be a better person in life. 

I would like to thank my parents and my sister Taylor who have supported and encouraged me to do my best and to follow my dreams. Thank you for everything. I am grateful for the wide range of excellent teachers I have had in my life, especially the Key School teachers. One teacher, in particular, I would like to thank is my aviation teacher, Mr. Carey. 

Following graduation, I hope to study computer science at a technical school and explore job training programs. To further my studies in computers. In closing, we may not always be dealt a good hand of cards, yet we succeed when we make the best of them. Thank you.”

After a morning of photographing little ones in their Easter best with the live bunnies, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful spring weather and do some landscaping around the studio. The crew consisted of several spring breaking high school students and Mia, our studio dog even helped out! Our neighbors said they had never seen any crew having this much fun moving dirt. Next time you stop by the studio, there should be lots of new green!
